2025 Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association Scholarship (Short-term Study in Japan)

(1) Application Period:
From now until June 13, 2025 (Friday).

(2) Application Quata:
20 students.

(3) Eligibility:
Applicants must:

  • Be under the age of 35 (born on or after April 2, 1990).

  • Be enrolled in a formal program (undergraduate, master's, or doctoral level) at a university or college in Taiwan at the time of application and throughout the scholarship period, from September 1, 2025, until the end of the scholarship term.

  • The duration of study in Japan must not exceed the standard period of study of the current program (students who have extended their studies beyond the standard duration are not eligible).

  • Primarily be students majoring in the humanities or social sciences who are conducting research related to Japan or are engaged in joint research with Japanese universities or research institutions.

  • Be currently involved in research with Japanese universities or research institutions and intend to apply their short-term exchange experience to education or research in Taiwan after returning.

(4) Scholarship Period and Benefits:
The scholarship will be provided for up to one year, starting from the date of enrollment at the host institution in Japan. The maximum scholarship period ends in September 2026. A monthly stipend of JPY 80,000 will be awarded.
